Rude People

I'm not fond of these people. Last night I posted an ad online for Connor's baby clothes that he's grown out of. I put the price for $1, but the prices vary. I'm not selling his really nice things for that cheap. Well, a lady calls me last night and asked if I still had them. Right off the bat she sounded irritated, pushy, and rude. She accused me of false advertising because I told her not everything would be a dollar (which I mentioned in the ad). But then I said most things won't be over $3. Well then without even asking me if it was a good time, she said I'm coming over what's your address? It was 7:30pm, the baby was asleep, Alex was going to bed soon, and I wasn't about to go rummaging through the baby's room gathering up his clothes while he was trying to sleep. I told her it wasn't a good night for me and she should call me back tomorrow to set up a time. She didn't like that. She got all huffy and more irritated and just snapped "fine". I have half a mind to just ignore her call when she calls back. Is that mean of me? But really, if she's going to be this way with me I don't really want to be doing business with her.

Dead..

Last night was a frustrating night for me. I was on my way home from having dinner with my friend Tiffany and just as I got to the turn lane on Bangerter my car died! Just flat out DIED. It wouldn't turn over or click or anything! So I sat there for a little bit until 2 guys were nice enough to push me out of the way of traffic and into a parking lot. But then I had to wait 45 minutes for a tow truck. Luckily I had my jacket, gloves, and a blanket in my car! And really lucky that I didn't have the baby with me! Although after the tow truck finally got there, I found out that if I had the baby with me, they would have gotten there in about 10 minutes. It almost makes it tempting to just say you always have a kid with you. I wouldn't though. So John looked at my car today and he thinks it has something to do with the fuel pump. So now we get to shop for a garage that can fix it cheap. John can fix it too, but he doesn't want to. He doesn't like working on cars anymore.

Real Or Fake?

I'm sure all of you have seen this picture at sometime or another. It's supposedly Bigfoot. I've been watching a lot of documentaries about Bigfoot and Sasquatches, and actually I have to admit I'm starting to believe this thing might actually exist. When you think about how much untouched wilderness we have in the NW alone, it's hard to dispute that something unknown can live there and still go undiscovered. On the other hand, in other places where there are so many people saying they've seen it, why haven't they ever found a body or any crucial evidence that they exist? Still, I'm fascinated by this. If I could go on one of the expeditions for this thing I would. Just to see if anything would happen. I was watching a documentary where a group of expeditionists went out into the woods in Texas where there have been a number of reported sightings. They did research on the modern Gorilla and thought if Sasquatch were like a Gorilla, it would respond to "calls" or sounds of the like. So they went high into a tree and set up a sound system to play Gorilla calls and other types of monkey. They got a response. A wolf can howl and you can hear it from over a mile away. No human could yell loud enough to be heard from that distance without some type of bullhorn or something. So when they played these calls, they heard something call back. They played it on the documentary. It's very faint because it was coming from so far away, but audible enough that you could still hear it and if it were something like a wolf or a bear, you could tell. This thing didn't sound like anything anyone had ever heard before. I know, I sound crazy right? But I'm seriously fascinated by this. I love the idea of a Sasquatch living in the woods and can't be proven that it's really there. Scientists and archaeologists have tested "evidence" and come up with no DNA matches, no concrete proof that it's anything normal. That proves that it's something unordinary. That maybe, just maybe, it's out there. So I wanted to voice what I think about this thing. What do you think? Is it real? Or is it a hoax?

She's Gone :(

Shelby is gone. We found a nice family that will take really good care of her, and they picked her up Wednesday night. They have a 5 year old boy who was really cute. He was so excited to be able to take Shelby home. He thought they were only coming over to play with her. Shelby warmed right up to him too. As soon as he knelt on the floor to pet her, Shelby rolled over and put her head in his lap. It was like instant love. I know they're going to be really happy with her. I'm pretty sure Shelby will be happy there too. It's been strange not having her here anymore. I've gotten used to her laying at the top of the stairs waiting for you to come in the door, then bolting to the door so she can go outside. She was such a good dog. But I have to admit it's been nice not being covered in dog hair, or smelling her bad breath because she gets right up in your face and won't lay down. (Not to mention she had really nasty gas!) I can definitely do without the smells! But we still miss her. Part of me wishes we had kept her still, but the other part says this is better for us. When Connor gets over his cold I'm going to be paying close attention to his congestion still. If it clears I'll know the dog probably had something to do with it. It's just too coincidental that he would be congested for so long when we got her. So that's the news. We are now petless. Except now Alex won't stop bugging CONSTANTLY to go get her a fish. It's getting really annoying. Plus I don't want to rush out and get her one until she proves she can be more responsible. She wasn't responsible with Shelby after she begged for her and promised she'd take care of her. I know it's just a fish, but Alex thinks it doesn't matter if she doesn't take care of things and I'm not up to just keep giving her more and more things that she'll just ignore. It's just too wasteful.

Connor And The Cold

This poor kid just can't catch a break! He has a cold now and he's miserable. Poor guy! I have to constantly suck snot out his nose and it's NASTY because it doesn't just suck it up into the bulb, it drags it out the nose so there's this big snot string you have to grab with a tissue after. EWWW!!! It's really gross! THANK YOU again to Kortney for his humidifyer too!! It's helping him a lot right now!
Also, today might be the day we say good-bye to Shelby. We have decided we can't keep her anymore. Even though Connor has a cold now, he's been congested pretty much since we got her and we're too paranoid that he's allergic to her. If he is, it's very mild and probably isn't a big deal, but we just can't run that risk anyway. There's a nice sounding family coming to see her today so we'll see if they take her home.

A Little About The Wedding

We went to the wedding on saturday for Chip and Ellen. It was very casual. Not even the bride wore even a skirt. Everyone was in jeans and T-shirts. It was held in their basement. Personally I think that's pretty funny. John laughed too at that, so I know I can. They wanted to go as cheap and simple as they could. Which is never really a bad thing. I would never have wanted a wedding like that, but I can see how they would. What was stupid though is even though it was an extremely casual non-formal event, it was still a wedding and Ellen's older girls didn't even come. The only people there were me, John, and Alex, Pam and her boyfriend Jim (who were perfoming the ceremony), Chip and Ellen of course, and Ellen's two younger girls who still live at home. There were no decorations to signify it was a wedding either. If you weren't there to see it take place, you'd never have a clue it happened. Chip and Ellen didn't even seem to care much that it happened. It was very odd.

Pam did a fairly nice job however at perfoming it. She made it sound very elegant and official, despite that everything else made it look and feel non-official. Well, whatever makes them happy. And... TAH DAH!! I actually REMEMBERED my camera this time! Here's a few pics I got.

My Big Red Neck Weddin'

I thought this cartoon was too funny not to put on too.

Not mine, but Chip's (John's brother). Let me be the first to congratulate Chip on getting married this saturday! This came as a really big shock to all of us. Chip has never wanted to settle down before. Well, I guess Ellen is too good to let go so he's not. But this is without a doubt the true meaning of red neck! Their wedding is a T-shirt and jeans event. Pam, (John and Chip's mom) will be performing the ceremony. No, she's not licensed. But guess who is.... ELLEN!! The bride is also going to be the minister at her own wedding! I'm sorry, but I am just.. I mean... WOW. That's going to look a bit odd on the marriage certificate don't you think?

*This picture isn't really them

Bathtub Wars

The Weekly Struggle to get Alex to take a bath has been, to say the least, irritating.
I know some kids just don't want to. But when you're 9 you kind of have to. Otherwise it's just gross. I just needed to vent this out a little. I'm not used to an older kid refusing to be clean. Anyone know how to get her to take them?

TOTALLY UNFAIR!!!

Can you believe this??!!.. I got FIRED!!! I am SOOOOO MAD at my former "cool" boss! argh! He didn't even have a good reason for it! I can't believe the crap he gave me to justify it. He hired me for only 2 or 3 days a week right? Well get this... he said "well, we really need someone who can work more hours and I just don't see this job as being a priority for you." WHAT THE CRAP IS THAT!! I said well, if you wanted someone to work more then why did you hire me in the first place?? He goes, we hoped maybe things would be a little different. OH MY GOSH. I want to kick him! I am just so mad right now!!! It's a good thing I didn't really need this job to begin with!

What Now?

I just finished reading Eclipse. I'm sad now that there's nothing more to read! :( I heard rumors of a fourth book coming out in the fall? Has anyone else heard about that? I can't wait! Argh! I don't want to wait! It's just like when Lord of The Rings came out. I never read the books, so I HATED the cliff hanger ending every time! And I had to wait and wait for the next movie to come out. *sigh* Oh well. I can always re-read them! Mom..hurry up and finish them!
*I didn't realize the picture came up so small and I don't know how to take them off yet once I put them on.
